Minister Dearick Milton, (affectionately called Minister D), is a 1982 graduate of Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia. Upon completion of high school, he attended Fort Valley State University, where in majored in Early Childhood Education. He later attended the University of Phoenix and graduated with a degree in Information Technology with a concentration in Information Assurance and Security. He is currently still enrolled in the University of Phoenix and pursuing another degree in Cyber Security.

Minister D completely immersed himself into Gospel music during his latter high school years. With songwriting to his credit, he recorded one of his first original with the Thomas A. Dorsey National Convention of Gospel and Choruses (NCGCC), entitled, “Worthy”. Since then, he has gone on to write many songs, of which some have been recorded by Joseph Robinson, Jr. and the Chosen Aggregation of Atlanta, Georgia, with whom he has also been a member for the past 15 years.

For 18 years, Minister Milton served as the Minister of Music at Bethsaida Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He became a licensed Minister of the Gospel on November 21, 2010. Along with being an Associate Minister at Bethsaida, he was also the Sunday School Teacher of the Teenage Class (ages 13-18) and the Director of Christian Education, under the pastorate and guidance of Pastor Timothy L. Depp. He currently serves as member of LIFE Church of Atlanta, under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Terence A. Merritt, M.D.

Minister D has had the opportunity to work and share the stage with, as well as sit under the instruction of, such Gospel greats as Daryl Coley, Donald Lawrence, Twinkie Clark, Karen Clark-Sheard, Pastor Calvin Bernard-Rhone, Angela Spivey, Keith Pringle, Angella Christie, Byron Cage, Lowell Pye, and others.

Minister D has touched many areas of the arts and entertainment mountain of influence, making his modeling debut in “Upscale”, the ultimate African-American lifestyle magazine, in 2003. Appearing in multiple issues, he continued to model for 8 years.

He went on to make his acting debut as the singing deacon, “Ed”, in the 2015 stage play, “But Momma, I Love Him”, which is still currently touring the United States. As well, Minister D made his first movie debut as a church pianist in the film, “The Appeal”, which is forecasted for release in theaters in 2019. He has also been casted to play “Fred”, a divorced and hardworking recovering alcoholic, in a new television sitcom. He is still recording and anticipating the release of his own CD project, "Free to Worship”, which is a compilation of a few of his original compositions and will feature various artists.

Minister Milton is currently employed at Logix Resource Group and is the very proud father of one daughter, two sons, and has four grandchildren.

When asked what keeps him strong and faithful to continue in ministry, Minister D replies, “Living life is really about pleasing God, caring for people, giving back, and enjoying the journey along the way. After all, only what we do for Christ is all that really matters anyway.”
